The annual All Partner’s Gathering (APG) is time to come together to share and learn from each other’s successes and struggles in Indigenous Language Revitalization. This gathering is central to strengthen our relationships and move forward together in a good way. At the invitation of Mi’kwaw Kina’matneway, the fall 2022 APG was set to take place on Unama’kik (Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia).

Unfortunately, Unama’kik experienced devastating impacts of hurricane Fiona, mere days before departure, and so our gathering was postponed. The 2022 All Partner’s Gathering shifted to a virtual format, and we were able to gather from across respective territories to close out the year together in a meaningful way.

As we enter 2023, we look ahead to the final year of the grant on the horizon. The Partnership is considering where to go from here, whether to pursue another SSHRC Partnership Grant or other opportunities to further our collective Indigenous Language Revitalization research work. Further discussions are yet to come, but what we have achieved together so far is remarkable.
