The UVIC Team and many of the NEȾOLṈEW̱ Partners and collaborators attended the HELISET TŦE SḰÁL conference on June 24-26, 2019, held on the territories of the Lekwungen speaking Peoples.

This international conference for Indigenous People celebrated the 2019 Year of Indigenous Languages in sharing knowledge and supporting each other in revitalizing our languages. Indigenous language experts and advocates from around the world shared their knowledge and learned by hearing and telling stories about keeping their languages thriving.
