Kahsennókwas highlights how the arrangement of classroom spaces is important for encouraging students to use Kanien’kéha and to foster Kanien’kéha speaking relationships amongst their peers. She shares some of the pedagogical approaches she uses such as circle time and storytelling well as how she cultivates togetherness, respect and positive interactions in the language. Kahsennókwas also discusses how her role as immersion teacher includes modeling and supporting language use through consistency, patience and encouragement.
